THE CUSTOMER & THE CHALLENGE
EgySpring is a progressive, quality focused factory that is specialized in the manufacturing of springs, metals and metal forming in Egypt that has thrived since 1992. Compliance with high quality raw materials and products durability as well as smart pricing are an integral part of the EgySpring industry and they only add to the challenge of maintaining profitable operations at EgySpring. Because of such manual processes and low-control over the warehouses, the Supply Chain Management was led by uncertainty and purchasing processes for the missing materials toke long time.
EgySpring had recently been at a stage where process improvement and cost reductions were stifled by a dated, completely paper based office management system.
While simplicity had served EgySpring well over the years, day to day operations were painful and unnecessarily costly due to manual procedures and paperwork. Sometimes critical information was even saved in plain Excel files making it hard to extract business driven reports.
Something had to change.
In Egyis, we proposed a custom version of our mini ERP product [eSales]. An internal application for EgySpring that would eliminate the need for handling paper and which would free staff members to serve their customers better, to maintain an effective supervision over on-field operations and to create more profit.
EgySpring trusted our recommendation, so we proceeded.
Egyis consultants spent several days with EgySpring staff, studying and analyzing the current business processes as well as the entire production operations. We used this knowledge to design a new workflow for EgySpring, this time based upon the business management application. We designed a workflow forms that replace the existing paper forms. We then developed the core part of the solution: a customized edition of eSales using the lasted technologies such as VB.NET and SQL Server.

After extensive testing and QA, we supported EgySpring’s complete and speedy adoption of this new system. We trained employees in the use of the system, we integrated help documents and learning videos with the ERP application. We cleaned up the paper mess of the office with an electronic records retention plan to eliminate the need to store or mail paper. We gave the owner new ways to create more profit by providing immediate business intelligence. And we tailored the system to comply fully with the regulatory guidelines of the industry.
Not only we’ve changed the way the work is achieved in the management offices, but also we’ve offered an entire platform for production management that made it very easy to control the raw materials warehouses, production process, customers accounting as well as suppliers accounting.
Numbers tell much of the story. EgySpring has enjoyed well over $700 per month in savings on labor costs and $3000/month just on cutting the redundancy of purchases in addition to other savings.
